Enriched Activities

Student of the week (Enfant Vedette)

The Student of the Week experience is offered in all our classrooms. Each week, a child is selected to be the student of that week, a role that helps build leadership and decision‑making skills.

During their special week, we ask parents to have their child bring one favorite storybook each day to daycare. The storybook they bring will be read during story time that day. Throughout the week, the child will also take on small leadership responsibilities in the classroom and will receive a special thank‑you at the end of the week to recognize their great work.

From September to June, each classroom nominates one student of the week, every week. All announcements are posted on ClassDojo.

Potty Training Achievement Program

We understand how challenging the transition out of diapers can be for both children and parents. At Garderie Académie Bois-Franc, we have developed a supportive potty‑training program to help make this milestone a positive experience.

Our educators begin by observing each child’s readiness. When a child is walking, communicating, and showing signs of independence, we reach out to parents to discuss starting the process. With parental consent, the educator will work alongside the parents to help kickstart this important chapter.

Using positive reinforcement, encouragement, and teamwork between home and daycare, we gently guide the child to sit on the toilet and gradually build confidence. By the end of each month, we celebrate the children who have successfully learned to use the toilet independently.

To highlight this exciting accomplishment, each child receives:

  • A laminated certificate celebrating their transition out of diapers
  • A trophy
  • A present as a reward

A photo of this special moment is sent to parents by ClassDojo.

If a child needs more time, we simply re‑nominate them the following month and continue offering patience, encouragement, and support. Every child progresses at their own pace, and we celebrate each step along the way.

Public Speaking & Confidence Program

We believe that confidence grows when children feel safe, supported, and excited to express themselves. Our Public Speaking & Confidence Program is designed to introduce children to the joy of sharing ideas, speaking in front of others, and building strong communication skills, step by step.

From their earliest years with us, children take part in simple, age‑appropriate activities that gently encourage self‑expression. Each week, educators present a small selection of objects or themes to spark curiosity and conversation. Children are invited to choose an item or sometimes discuss a fun concept such as “my favorite color” and share it with their peers during our weekly show‑and‑tell tradition.

As children grow, their comfort and confidence naturally develop. Presentations become slightly more structured, allowing them to speak in front of their classmates with pride. Throughout the year, children also prepare short themed presentations, often supported by visual aids such as pictures or a small poster created at home with their family. These special presentations have become one of our most beloved traditions, giving children a chance to shine and celebrate their progress.

Above all, our goal is to nurture children who feel confident, empowered, and enthusiastic about expressing themselves, skills that will support them for many years to come.

Field Trips & On‑Site Activities

We believe children learn best when they are engaged, curious, and immersed in meaningful experiences. Over the years, we’ve enriched our program with both off‑site outings and on‑site special activities that allow children to explore the world around them in fun and educational ways.

Our recent outings have included visits to the Biodôme, Quinn Farm, and the Musée pour Enfants, where children discover nature, animals, science, and hands‑on learning through play. These opportunities help build confidence, independence, and a genuine love for exploration.

In addition to our field trips, we also bring enriching experiences directly to the daycare. Each summer, Pace Farm visits our centre so children of all ages can meet and learn about farm animals up close. In the fall, we transform our outdoor yard into a mini pumpkin‑picking farm, giving children the chance to enjoy a seasonal tradition right on site.

Whether observing wildlife at the Biodôme, picking produce at Quinn Farm, role‑playing at the Musée pour Enfants, or choosing a pumpkin in our own yard, these experiences create meaningful memories and complement the learning taking place in the classroom.

We look forward to continuing this tradition of discovery and offering our students engaging opportunities that help them grow and thrive.

Fitness Program with Generation Fitness

Children ages 18 months and up enjoy an engaging year‑round fitness program led by Ms. Toni from Generation Fitness, a weekly highlight they look forward to! Every 10 weeks, activities rotate to keep things fun and stimulating. We kick off September with Yoga, then move through Gym & Movement, Dance, and a lively Summer Bootcamp.

Regular movement helps children build strong motor skills, improve focus, gain confidence, and support healthy physical development. With Ms. Toni’s energy and enthusiasm, fitness becomes a joyful part of each child’s week.

Music Program with Shawny

Effective Winter 2026

All children at Garderie Académie Bois‑Franc, from infants to preschoolers, take part in our joyful bi‑weekly music program led by Shawny. His warm energy and musical talent make every session a highlight. Through singing, rhythm games, instruments, and movement activities, children explore sound, creativity, and early musical expression.

Music supports language development, listening skills, coordination, and emotional expression. With Shawny’s engaging approach, music time becomes a magical and enriching moment where children connect, learn, and discover the joy of making music together.
